Around 65 films have been released till last week in Mollywood in the first half 2015. Barely 9 films have attained either profitable or break even status with theatrical along with rights. Even though this year we have All time blockbuster and blockbusters the present scenario of Mollywood is of desperation. The increasing cost of production and grim market leading to a crisis period. But we can be happy of the fact that some of the films fared well at box office and brought the evading audience to the theaters. Rise of multiplexes throughout cities gives hope of new arena of business area.

- Premam--- All Time block buster
The all time blockbuster from Alphonce � Super Star Nivin Pauly created huge waves among younger generation who repeated Q up in front theaters bring record houseful shows. It has broken all prevailing record in the Mollywood. Just one more record remaining is that of crossing Drishyam Kerala gross of 45 Cr and its show count. At 26th day the film has grossed around 31.70 Cr in Kerala alone with 11,000 shows and it has all the chances of reaching 50 Cr in Kerala in its life time run. The massive four weekends and highly steady weekdays is real rarity. As a close watcher of box office trends, frankly never seen this much euphoria for a film!
- Oru Vadakkan Selfie - Blockbuster
Another youth oriented movie which featuring the famous malarvadi friends. The money minting Nivin Pauly- Vineeth Sreenivasan combo raced to the top on the day one itself. It had good four weeks and thereafter maintained an average collection to reach near 20 Cr and 13,500 plus shows. The first blockbuster of 2015
- Bhaskar The Rascal � Mega Hit
Megastar Mammooty�s strong performance at box office in recent time with this mega hit with ace director Sidhique. The family took over the film in summer vacation. The excellent opening day coupled with steady three weekends provided it around 15.60 Cr with 11,350 shows in Kerala.
- Ennum Epozhum � Super Hit
Super Star Mohanlal�s only one successful of 2015 with Manju warrior and Sathyan Anthikkad. The initial week showed bit reluctance at box office largely due to selfie impact. But later on picked up but the success Bhasker again proved fatal as the target audience is the same. Collected around 11.80 Cr with 8,900 shows.
- Other breakeven
Firemanwith 7.60 Cr gross and 8,200 shows leads in the final five race. Other notable grosser in the Mollywood are Picket 43, Mili, Chandrettan evidaya, Second Class Yathra had some impact at Mollywood considering other 50 plus films which dried up the pockets of poor producers.
