When Drishyam happened we all thought that was the mother of blockbuster of Mollywood and it will be impossible to break given the fact of rapid increase in the release of films. But here we have a film within its two week run posing serious challenge to the record by registering stupendous collection each and every day.
Premam goes viral among malayalees everywhere. It has packed house from day one till end of second week. Whether it is Kerala or outside it reigned over records after records. Massive growth on Sunday and rock steady weekdays. It has collected a super record 21.30 Cr from All India in two weeks, a huge record unmatched by any standard compared to other Malayalam release. The biggest blockbuster of 2015 Oru Vadakkan selfie collected 20 Cr in fifty days but this one crossed in two weeks.The instant blockbuster is on the way to become all time blockbusters. It is certain to out power Mohanlal- Jithu wonder by big mile if the present trend goes on without fail. Sunday it produced more than 2 Cr , remember it was the second Sunday ! The show count for Sunday is more than 5,00 which happens only on opening days of highly hyped movies. Moreover all the cities had more than one screen of that fabulous and some of the centers still carries on with extra screens. Around 100 plus screens were occupied by this film in last week with fastest 6,000 shows.
Niranayakam and Lukka chupi even though got above average WOM , swept away due to Premam wave. While Asif Ali could muster up around 1.70 Cr , the Jayasurya film could find around 1.10 Cr. Niranayakam can be treated as different pattern from VK Prakash. Deserved better run. Ivide is a flop the Prithviraja and new sensation Nivin Pauly could not save it from falling it down .
Jayaram one more attempt at box office seems to be just like monsoon rain... no real effect. Need this evergreen actor back. May be in need of good advisers who can select better script irrespective of box office results.
