The strike and thereafter

In any strike the end result will be loss money and workman ship is on the one who conducts it. Last weeks strike by Film Exhibitors Association in Kerala is not an exception to it. Those who didnt join the band wagon its president Bahseer is singing happy tunes.

The strike called in support of piracy related Premam but extend for a couple of day to black mail the distributor of Bahubali for the wide release. But at the end of the strike Premam is at beating end and Bahubali gets extra advantage on day one extends its domain from 60 screens to double the screens.

Bahubali has been received as visual extravaganza of India cinema. The costliest movie has turned in to a collection machine throughout the world for Indian film lovers. By the first weekend itself the film has broken all the records of Indian cinema by reaching at an unbelievable 160 Cr worldwide. An Indian cinema can do it big in collection! The record of PK will be broken in the coming weeks if these trends continues. In Kerala from low key start due to strike  by the end of first weekend covers 2.50 Cr  and aiming a reasonable figure of 3.5 Cr to 4 Cr in its first week. Once fasting of Ramzan is over it may have head start in Malabar region as well.

Premam is at 38.20 Cr at 45 days and showing dip in collection as it reaches 50 days. The makers are in all out effort to hold on to present screens of 70 to create record by celebrating golden 50 in highest numbers. Since ramzan release set to brace the screens from 17thonward, how far it will succeed remain to be seen. With world collection around 52 Cr the film has given profit 200 % to the producers.
