It was a calm and quiet week due TO lack of hectic activities of Malayalam mainly because of non release of major films. But the new release turns it busy again. Biju and Mahesh fights at box office , one with hyper hype and other with enters with no sound bites . Biju has mixed WOM but Maheshinte Prathikaramheading for a surprise hit with excellent WOM. Reminds me of fight of David and Goliath , finally who won ? Hope you knows !
WOM of Mahesh catches like fire in Kerala. From weak start in the morning it grown to houseful shows by evening. Collects 71 lakhs on opening day which is phenomenal for a small movie. Some multiplexes and single screens have increased the shows and also shift from small screen to big screen is on the cards.

The first super hit of 2016 in trade sense by crossing 8,000 shows and collecting around 12.40 Cr. Big comfort for Director Marthandam and a routine success for Supreme Star Prithviraj. Box office returns will be minimal due to new release. May end up around 14 Cr in its life time run.
3. Two Countries
In its seventh it hold on to seventy plus screens which is absolutely scintillating . Collects around 30 .60 Cr with 14,000 shows. All time block buster . One of the biggest come back of the season for Janapriya nayakan
4. Charlie
This Block buster still not out with limited shows . Collection has gone past 20 Cr. One more feather in the stardom cap of Dulquer Salman.
5. Other Language Films
In an unproductive week of box office other language films like Aramanai , Airlift , Irithi Suttru occupied screens with little occupancy.
