Action Hero Biju - Very good opening

Hype is a double edged weapon for a film.  It ensures fixed initials for the movie till the weekend irrespective of WOM and at the same time once the honeymoon over it hurts deeper in to the root thus making the film to all from the weekdays if the WOM is average to below average.

Action Hero Biju has the blessing of huge hype. The film directed by Abdried Shine who debuted through 1983, a film well received by public and critics alike. And the biggest reason for the hype is the film of Nivin Pauly after All Time Block buster Premam.  Frankly speaking some of the first look posters of Biju were as if its of pukka action oriented film. Later Director realized the danger of it and through trailers and his interview cautioned the film lovers he meant something different through the film. Initial report suggests that the director has experimented to depicts ordinary life of a police officer bereft of super human activities. Though critics have given thumps up the ordinary viewers splits the WOM to mixed one. The hype seem to have played spoiler sport here to large extend. The over expectation which is no fault of the director or the actor kills the real spirit of the movie from average film lovers perspective.

The film released in a big way around 125 screens across Kerala and the multiplexes were flooded with record number of shows. The morning shows were strangely not up to the mark but evening shows were blessed with houseful boards in many areas. Show count wise film had around 580 shows on day one which is also new record. The film collects 1.72 Cr approx on its first day. It is a very good opening even though we expected earth shattering one. Due to the highest number of shows it was expected to be a record first day collection but inconsistency in the occupancy adversely influenced the final outcome of the day. As far as box office fate of the film is concerned its look hit for sure and rest of the run depends how it behave during weekdays from Monday onward.
