Month of May can be termed as mother of all the biggies of Mollywood in 2015. All the notable actors has their release scheduled in this month. Starting from today with Ulaga nayakan Kamal Hasan and Ever green Star Jayaram with Uthama Villain and Janapriya Nayakan Dileep in Chandrettan Evidaya , Romantic Star Kunchako Boban with Chirakodinja Kinakkal, Anoop Menon in She taxi and in coming weeks , Super Star Mohanlal, Power star Prithviraj, New Super Star Nivin Pauly with several prestigious projects set to find the screens.
Chandrettan good WOM and Dileep is going to have a genuine hit if the trend of the first day continues. Busy days ahead for Chandrettan.
The existing films slowly bid bye to release centers for the new one but after making profit from theater itself.
Bhasker the rascal had a fantastic second week by holding almost all the releasing screens. It crossed 5,000 shows in lightening pace and collections on the weekend were above average to good especially in Malabar region and Central Kerala. It�s near to Super Hit by collecting highly impressive 9 Crores in 15 days. Though it has got some removals and show reductions today ,it still has the potentials to collect another 3 to 4 Cr till May 15th. Director Sidhique was in desperate need of a hit and this film has brought him back to mainstream.
Oru Vadakkan Selfie creates all the first records of 2015. It is near 10,000 show mark first of its kind in 2015 and also first film to cross 15 Cr in 2015. Presently the total collection is at 15.60 Cr in 34 days and it will celebrate 50 days at least in 30 screens which will be huge considering the volume of release every week we have. The fifth week it maintained 50 plus releasing screens which is more than fabulous.
Kanchana 2, is the surprise of this week with an increase in screen count across Kerala and has clearly overtaken OKK in the second week. Collection zooms up to 2.60 Cr in 13 days while it has passed 50 Cr in Tamilnadu. Being non starrer film in Kerala , the distributor has racked up the profit due to low buy.
Sathyamurthi fell the next day onwards and thereafter response was lukewarm.
. OK Kanmani hold on to some screens in the major cities by the Dulquar star power otherwise general WOM is not encouraging for massive collection. It has collected 3.20 Cr in 13 days in Kerala.
Ennum Epozhum hold on to 30 plus screens and collected around 10.80 Cr in 34 days with 8,200 shows. Break even from theater itself and highly profitable with all the rights. Nothing more revenue from releasing centers expected
