��I �� does a mesmerizing performance at Kerala box office and has taken the industry pundit by surprise. Have seen so many hyped movies comes and rules at box office but this Shankar wonder film has shattered all notions and the initial records of Mollywood till this time for the huge initial it had for the first week. It has collected an unbelievable 12.50 Cr gross in first 7 days . The Mollywood films are not unable to cover more than 8.50 Crore in Kerala alone in a week.
Shankar � Vikram combo with an added advantage Suresh Gopi grabbed the majority of the screens of Mollywood. Though initial WOM of mixed had very little impact on collection , the houseful shows and greater occupancy continued till the Monday. Brand name Director Shankar and well known photographer PC Sreeram and World famous Music director AR Rahaman etc are the major plus. Lack of fan fight also attributed for the success as the lead actor Vikram is acceptable to all. Still it has the potentials to collect further 3 to 5 crore from Mollywood even though large number of Mollywood has crept in to the theater fold. 15 Crore gross is mere formality as of now.
This week actually the fourth Friday of 2015 and last three weeks were dominated by release news with very little impact at box office. Malayalam films were just mute spectator for the biggies of other language and last week purely conquered by I. Did you know around 9 films released in Mollywood so far in 2015 apart from the all the release of today ?
At last the producers have shown courage to release the Malayalam films without caring I and end result four major release at Mollywood box office this week.
Four films for this week; all major young talents of 2014 open their accounts in 2015. Prithviraj , Nivin Pauly , Fahad Fazil. Interestingly Super Star Mohanlal has presence in two of them.
Picket 43 Major Ravi � Prithviraj combo. Good come back by Major if the initials reports sustains. Secures good to above average WOM from FDFS viewers. Though had an average rush in the initial shows. It has started to pick up considerably as others are not matching up in WOM with it in action genre. 55 screens in Kerala.
Mili much awaited movie of Rajesh Pillai with winner of 2014 Nivin Pauly. Impressive performance of Amala Paul. FDFS viewers gives thumps up. Occupying small screens in several cities , wonder why? . Around 50 screens. Youths have shown great interest in the film.
Rasam directed by Rajeevnath with Mohanlal in cameo role. Not encouraging response WOM wise and theater occupancy wise as well. Maxlab distributes in around sixty plus screens and even cities failed to produce more than 50% occupancy . Better avoid cameo roles because the burden of flops directly falls on him even if he appears in 10 or 15 minutes.
Mariam Mukku script writer James Albert directorial debut . Fahad Fazil in the lead. Average WOM. It has biggest screen count as it is being distributed by LJ films in 70 plus screens.
