They have been here since eighties still dominates in 2014. The big �M� is always in news and they are still most sought after stars in the Mollywood. Hit or miss at box office does not dwindle their prospects at Mollywood. While settling the balance sheets of 2014 many media narrated about the loss of M films, I can�t stop laughing. The insider in the industries confirms one unshaken fact that not single movies of big M�s have created any burden on producers. One way or other they are profitable. But by going through the theater run we may conclude it as Hit or flop the actual result is it has earned profit at final accounting.
Mammooty posed a better performance compared to last year in box office plus theater run. The second half of 2014 more fruitful in quality as well as quantity! The actor in Megastar shined well. Certainly best actor of 2014 goes to him.

Rajadhi Raja tops in collection out 7 films released in credit. Raja collected around 10.5 Crore with 7,150 shows in Kerala. It brought back the mass hero figure out of Mega star and created huge initial during Onam period.
Varsham the family man Mammooty with sentiments conquered film goers. Film crossed 6.200 show and collected around 7 crore and still occupies some screens. Poised to have reasonable earnings from non release centers as well.
Munnariyuppu gets break even due to low cost. Good attempt by well known Photographer turned Director Venu. The script is the master. Mammooty excelled in role. Kind of slow return through 4,000 shows.
Other movies Megastar , Manglish had above average earner status. Gangsters, Praise the lord and Balyakala sakhi has faced bad run at the theaters. The plus of Mammooty seemed to be Easley accessible to new directors . Which actually gives new life to many. Fireman will be the first film of Mammooty in 2015 which is scheduled end of this month and may repeat another 7 films in this year as well including much awaited Bhasker the Rascal
Super Star Mohanlal welcomed 2014 with All time block buster Drishyam. It occupied theaters even after 5 months. But strangely there were not many Malayalam movies of him in 2014. A cameo role in Koothara and second fiddle role along Vijay in Jilla and two Malayalam flicks,

Peruchazhi stylish Mohanlal , huge hype surrounded the film during Onam time but slide away later within two weeks . Secured around 13.70 Cr at box office with 7,400 shows. Huge budget projected and gets handsome satellite right by way of it.
Mr Fraud the Salt N Pepper look Mohanlal with an average thriller. Collected around 8.30 Crore with around 6,450 shows. Director Unnikrishnan himself claimed break even by two weeks. Then why we doubt?
Jilla had earth shattering opening day and Mohanlal as the distributor of Kerala bring home safe venture. Collected around 9.35 Cr.
The commercial masala has sidelined the actor Mohanlal.The lesson of 2014 : He is giving all his preference to experienced directors keeping young directors in waiting, Sathyan Anthikad , Ranjith is on line with latest films. Hope to bring back the actor.
The big M undoubtedly versatile actors. While Mammooty has understood it in 2014 , Mohanl lal wasted an year. They have the potentials still to give hundreds of memorable characters AND we are waiting for it.
