I don�t remember, do you remember whether any Lead star who has four films running at a time in a city? Supreme Star Prithviraj has done it in style as his all the four films running in Kozhikode PVS screens. The star of 2015 rocks in his first film 2016 through Pavada with entirely different role. FDFS viewers has given him hip hip hurray for the film. Above average WOM is being circulated and bookings are going in crazy way in several screens. If he succeeds making this one as well a hit, it will be an enviable new record in the Mollywood. Let us hope for the best.
Fahad Fasil known for his meticulous selection of characters succeeded again through Monsoon Mangoes. Director Abi Varghese has packaged a film with novel treatment.
20 Crore was the highest bench mark in Mollywood around 3 years before. Always seen as highly tough to cross the mark! But the Drishyam proved Mollywood can even pass 40 Cr which was double the target of a bench mark in the industry.
The year 2015 redrafted the scenario by increasing it to 30 Cr and there were 3 films crossed it with ease. Premam, Moideen and Amar AA.. All of them have their collection bucket filled to maximum. Before closing the accounts of 2015 we have a fourth film which is most likely to touch 30 Cr and can move bit forward of it. Dilip- Shafi wonder countries , Two countriesterrific run reach its peak in its third week by pushing the collection 20 Cr plus and eyeing around 30 region. In 20 days film has collected around 21.35 Cr with around 7,700 shows. With limited reductions of shows in the fourth week this film likely to gross another 4 Cr in this week quite easily. The film profitable from theater run itself and set to give producers 100% profit which rarely happen. It has over taken Charlie by big distance in show count and collection. Remember Dq film had one day advantage.
But it does not mean Charlie has failed in third week. It too has crossed 7,100 shows in 21 days with 16.85 Cr gross from Kerala alone. The film is taking a beating by large removals and show reduction due to new releases. If any of the new release fails it can bounce back strongly. Charlie has created history at GCC area with large number of shows and huge advance booking. Hopefully we may be to get the collection figures by next week.
Adi Kapyare Kootamani has gone past 5,500 show mark with 7.30 Cr. Real dark horse of Christmas release.
