Friday Matinee - Varsham- Good report

Happy to see that Mollywood is back again to track in the month of November! The past month, October is worst productive month of Mollywood as it has been ruled by other languages movies from Bang Bang , Happy New Year, Kaththiand Poojai minted money at box office relegating Malayalam films to the corner to watch and fail. This onslaught of other language biggies created a near fear psychosis to our filmdom which is apparent in the change of release date of plenty of movies scheduled in the month. It should be admitted that Vellimoonga and Ithihasa  resisted this mega war to their best.

Vellimoonga has reached impressive 11,000 show mark with collection crossing 11.10 Cr. Going to be a blockbuster the way it has accumulated profit on cost. The bumper win!

Ithihasa may not have enough boosted collection or show count but its profitable is the big news due to its acceptance and low cost involved. Collected around 3.60 Crore . The great show !

Actor Jayaram continue his bad run at box office without any fail. Ngalude veetile athithikal unable evoke any response at box office and many screens started to reduce the shows after weekend. Blot on the vast experienced director Sibi Malayil. Big banner and they marketed the film stupendously well but the old story in the new camera style refuses to work. It has not crossed 1 crore in the weekend. The big flop!

The fresh period starts with Megastar film Varsham which is directed by one of the notable director among the young generation Ranjith Shankar. The trailer and teasers has created hope of good Mammootys own production cinema. It has good number of screens in around 70 plus  in Kerala and around same number other parts of India. The initial reports of great performance of the versatile actor and film is a feel good genre with sentimental scenes. The good WOM!

Kaththi has collected 9.35 crore gross in 13 days. Kerala has contributed immensely to its 100 Cr success.  The Deepavali winner !
