The Onam is just two weeks away. A big firework from Mollywood is waiting to unfurl its colourful reel at box office. This week can be considered as off day for those films which are ready to kick off the fire. But one should feel pity for the movies which are going to release today. Even if they get super WOM the movies is going to be out of even in major centers under the Onam film release pressure. Munnariyippu is directorial venture from experienced cameraman Venu and has been in the public domain for a while from June. Shifted due to various reasons from time to time. By the sheer bad luck gets a slot of release totally underserved one. But the initial reports of film gives a fitting reply to those who shelved the movie release so far. Excellent to good reports are pouring in from FDFS viewers and have encouraging status though it released without any hype. Released in around 70 screens in Kerala. A genuine hit for Mega star on the way.
Anjaan got off to flying start but the WOM had devastating effect in succeeding days. Collects 2.60 crore in the first 3 days and thereafter faced a steep fall. The producer has gone to the extent of announcing three days worldwide collection figures of 30 Cr to promote the film considering the adverse WOM it received thereafter director did his part by trimming the length of the film to 20 minutes. Any way it had good weekend and fate of next week is still a big question mark.
Vikramadhithyan , celebrated 25th day in nearly 65 screens of Kerala. It overtakes even the new Mollywood release without any hurdles. Remember it got mixed WOM then just imagine what kind of WOM other films generated at Mollywood ! ! ! Collection is near to 10 Core and all set to enjoy one more week comfortably.
Avatharam enters in to an average zone. Crossed 6 crore and box office fate sealed with no further hopes in coming weeks.
We complain too much about masala cinema but when we have reasonably serious cinema we just turn our face and would wait for DVD to release. Apothecary marginalized by commercial movies from home and neighbours manages to covers around 1.90 crore box office. If the channels does not bless with handsome rate it may be huge loss for the producer.
