Friday Matinee - ''Koothara'' rolls on

Mollywood literally has two week time to cash in with present releases. Once the fasting of Holy Ramzan begins there will be virtual decline in collection, Malabar region will be badly hit during the month. Meanwhile rain is playing its part in diminishing the collections.

Bangalore Days continue dominate Mollywood in big way and large distance in collection, It is real viral in the box office without leaving any room to other films to crop in to domain. The cities are recording nearly cent percentage show on even week days that too in second week is phenomenal considering its being non festival time. Collects a staggering 12.60 Crore in 13 days with fastest 6,000 shows in Kerala alone. It should be noted that there is no fall in the collection in major cities with marginal drop in semi urban areas; this will compel all the screens which presently holds to continue the fireworks at box office. Now showing in 97 screens in Kerala and it means surprises are still in store for this Anjali Menon wonder in coming weeks as well. Outside Kerala around 100 screens are also having shows filled with fantastic response. The film is break even by the theatrical run itself and expects to rope in hundred percentage profit in life time run from shows.

How Old Are You still shines brightly with 10.70 Crore in its bag with 7,750 shows within 26 days. The BD has shattered its prospects as highest earner of 2014 but enjoys the family audience support to considerable extend.

Garbha Sriman fails to evoke enthusiasm. Yet another non starter at box office and with meager collection of around 60 lakhs.

Mr Fraud faced massive removal on last Friday shrinking the box office possibility to low level. Collects around 8.10 Crore in 26 days with 6,150 shows. The run likely to terminate in this week in many major centers as many screen it is presently showing braces for Koothara.

Todays release

Koothara: Sreenath Rajendran had impressive debut through Second show which introduced Dulquar Salman to Mollywood. His latest venture with peculiar name in news for some time due to the presence of Mohanlal in cameo role. Budget wise, though super star inclusion changes nominal calculation but business wise the producer can feel safe. Regardless of the box office fate net result: UTV grab the distribution right and humpty offers for satellite rights.  Opened in 80 screens in Kerala with mixed reports.
