The second half of 2015 for Mollywood starts on flop note. Out of the four release of Ramzan only one film may able to touch at least 5 Cr mark others may end from flop to disaster status by going through the first week trends. There are two reasons cited for this big debacle, one is the heavy rain other is the huge success of other language movies like Bahubali.Selective viewing is the norms of the present viewers maily due to the rise in ticket rates and thus second reason seem to more or less the real reason. But in some area rain has some impact.
Bahubali is the real dark horse of the season. After successful first week, this all time blockbuster enjoys smooth second week. Houseful shows even on week days and collection roared up to 9 Cr in Kerala and its worldwide collection is 375 Cr. All possibility of 500 Cr figures! The Kerala may add another 2 to3 Crore easily to its total thus bringing good dividend to distributor.
Madhuranaranga has better WOM among all the releases. Survived the week days collecting an average 35 lakhs to 40 lakhs each while other films fell flat. Failed to click on the opening but by the weekend improved rapidly! Collects around 2.40 Cr in 6 days. A hit is due from Kunchako Boban � Biju menon for long time and feel that this may be the one.
Acha Din brings bad days for Marthandan � Mammooty team. Collection is so poor that it can�t even match megastar�s old disasters. Collected a mere 1.05 Cr in 6 days. It released without any hype and in nutshell even fans were not moved by the promotions. But this movie does not deserve this much beating for sure. WOM is mixed but collection is low as of worse WOM.
Mari and Bajrangi Baijan have done notable business in Kerala. Salman Khan Starrer will have another week fabulous run as the WOM is good enough to rake up collections. Collected near to a Crore in Kerala while All India figure touches 184 Cr, a record opening week for Salman! Some additional screens are added which can boost its total. Dhanush movie gets mass masala WOM and weekend collections were too good to cover its cost in Kerala. Collected around 1.60 Cr while in Tamil Nadu it has passed 25 Cr . Massive opening though WOM is mixed.
Success for Janapriya Nayakkan eludes even after change of style. Love 24X7 heading for a disaster as opening week is very poor in terms of collection. He is no more darling of the family audience. The solid block which helped in building a collection backbone has somehow lost the confidence. Dileep desperately looks for box office result of Life of Josuty . Good news is that Director Jeethu claims of table profit.
KL10 is a disaster. Premam still holds on with 38.70 Cr in 56 days in around 40 plus screens with 19,000 shows.
